Course Overview

This programme is designed for students that already hold a HND qualification or the equivalent. It can be completed in a minimum of 9 months with a BA (Hons) Business and Management qualification being awarded by the University of Northampton upon completion. Throughout the programme, you will engage with key business and management practices and build upon prior academic work in finance, marketing, human resources and business. An emphasis is placed on the development of individual and group skills so that graduates develop an enquiring mind with a well-rounded skill-set to start careers in business or management.

Students that do not already possess a HND qualification can complete the Level 8 EduQual Diploma in Business and Marketing Management. The Diploma gives a well-balanced and holistic coverage of business management theories providing a strong foundation so that students are well-prepared for the more practical and applicable elements taught in the Top-Up programme.

Stage 2

If students do not possess the required qualifications upon entry they can first complete the EduQual Diploma. Following successful completion of the Stage 1 Diploma, students can gain direct entry onto the Stage 2 Top-Up. Students will be awarded with a full Bachelor's degree from the University of Northampton upon completion of Stage 2.

To earn the necessary 120 credits needed to obtain the final award, students are required to complete all 6 modules. Each module is assessed by assignment only. There are no examinations.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will typically posses:

• A Higher National Diploma, Diploma of Higher Education, or the equivalent OR; 

• A qualified Diploma in Business Management such as one of the below access qualifications:​

  • The EduQual Diploma in Business and Marketing Management (SCQF Level 8)

  • OTHM Diploma in Business Management

  • ATHE Diploma in Business Management

  • Hong Kong IBA Higher Diploma in Business Management

  • NCC Education Advanced Diploma in Business

  • ABE Diploma in Business Administration AND;

• A good command of English (equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above)​

*Applicants that do not possess the necessary qualifications for direct entry onto the Top-Up programme can complete the EduQual diploma in Business and Marketing Management with Douglas Business School.
